The i Light Marina Bay Festival is back to set the Marina Bay Waterfront Promeande aglow. In all, 28 light sculptures and installations will greet visitors to the 3.5km-long promenande from Friday night to March 30.
From interactive light pads to beautiful multicoloured light projections, the artworks are from more than 10 countries, including Britain, China and the Netherlands. Thirteen of them are by Singapore artists.
Highlights at the biennial festival, which started in 2010, include the award-winning piece 1.26 by American Janet Echelman, 48. It was inspired by the 1.26 micro-seconds that was shaved off each day after the devastating 2010 Chilean earthquake, which was so strong it sped up Earth's rotation
